Choicepoint background check
Matt S. The Choice Screening team was a big help in making a transition to their services. Backgrounds are a huge piece of our success and we greatly appreciate such assistance! Liz W. I have been working with Choice Screening now for a couple of years, and I am really happy with the service that they have provided. Whenever I call with a problem or question, it is answered and taken care of in a timely manner. They are very professional and knowledgeable. I mean, especially considering how well they like to use those social security 's. Forgive me for my foul mood, but this has began to wear on me and I'm just ready for my "no".
And, I guess now I'll start looking back into Restaurant or Retail work Well, here I am still waiting It turns out that the other "employers" that I had in my past really before the 5 yr period they check didn't matter, but it did turn out that there are 2 on my file which are inaccurate!

So, to much of my surprise, it really "wasn't" my fault for this I've been dealing with a lot of misinformation on my credit report since my purse was stolen back several years ago. I didn't realize it until like or so, and since that time I've been struggling with it. Anyway this has now been escelated to Corporate Security and I've had to file a dispute with the Work Number and I've also faxed in about 4 documents proving incorrect personal information on my credit file which I've been working on to correct.
So far, I'm still in the running and they're trying their best to get it approved. I mean, this does really stink because it actually turned out to be no fault of mine and I'm really working hard to get this confusion cleaned up. I'm just hoping that they see that I'm cooperating and providing them with all the extra documentation that they've requested and can over-ride it and get it approved. I hope to know this week TJ in Mesquite, Texas. Let me clear all this up for you having worked in Banking 8 years from Management to HR processing. You should list your prior employers on your resume and application.
However, remember, the main reason for this information is to show your experience, your skills and stability. The reason you were probably asked if that was all your employment was probably because there were gaps and Choice Point may have found other employers when doing your background check. The background check is mainly to verify that you are who you say you are and that you are legal SS, DL etc. Managers are not to give their opinions of your performance as they can be sued for defamation of character.
PUBLICATIONS
Choice Point knows to contact HR for most large companies to obtain this as a good company would have their manager trained to refer background checks to their HR department. The credit bureaus get this information whenever you complete an application for credit or when this information is given to a collector in an attempt to collect an unpaid debt. Choice Point is not some big powerhouse company that can just do what they want and get any info they want without your permission.
It is against the law and an invasion of privacy.

When you signed for your background check, you signed papers allowing them to pull credit which is how they are obtaining your job history information. The only other way they could obtain this information is if they had you to sign a Form for the IRS to allow them to pull your tax transcripts over the past 5 years. I doubt that would happen since you are not applying for a loan and these documents should only be usedd to determine financial history to make a lending decision.
Good Luck. It can only hurt you and it is a waste of space. You need to get a copy of your credit report and address these issues in advance during your interview. If you think they may see it from your credit report, simply let the interviewer know that you have one or two companies that you did not list because you did not work there long enough to get into the job skills.
Explain while you left and make sure that you can give them assurance as to you decision and that you would not do the same to them. Try not to be so personal. Simply stating that you were young and trying to get on board with a company like BofA. You will really need to admit to screwing up and come back and make them know you are ready to progress and you hope you can progress with BofA.
BofA is not the only bank. Do not get down.
That would help with your confidence and depression. Actually BofA is not necessarily the most favored bank employer! Very well said and I have a question that I want to ask you. I didn't get a previous job because I put NO on the application regarding terminated or not.
When the company was doing a background check, they contacted my old manager and he told them I was indeed terminated but I was under the impression I was separated from the company. Of course I didn't get the new job and I went ahead and contacted my old job's HR department. The HR lady told me that the managers are trained not to say anything themselves and they are suppose to refer it back to the HR department like you said.
Job Description
So basically, my question is, can I take any legal action with my old manager? FYI, In the state of California it is illegal for a past Employer to state "that you were fired or terminated. Hi, I went to a hiring event where the branch manager interviewed me personally and I sent him a follow up like a week later and that same day the recruiter called me offering me the job. Also, the process was so long I applied August 27 and got emailed to go to interview October 15 I believe.. What do you think of this? I was thinking of emailing the branch manager that interviewed me..
