Here is a thread with a picture of a correct serial number Single letter Feb 8, Posts: 1, Feb 9, Posts: 4, My Silver Series has a P at the start on serial number. Lovely guitar, toploader with chunky neck, Gotoh tuners and good pickups. Never felt the need to replace the logo on any mij Squires. In my case: I have more reasons to be ashamed because of my playing than because of my guitar. And removing it from a Squier? Because others don't see the value in the guitar, and with the removal of the decal it just becomes better? Replacing it is just as bad a lying, why pretend your guitar is something that it isn't? I have a few Fender branded and many Squiers, all products sold by the same company. The first number following the prefix is the year.

Mine has "Squier "tuners. I have also wired up the bridge to the second tone knob. Some new pots will improve the overall tone range considerably. A new full trem block is another mod though frankly although it make a minor difference no-one in an audience is going to notice,,,ever. SE are full size so everything fits hence a great modding platform.
