SamTC98 1 posts 11 months. My Dad talked about getting it back I think he knew the current owner but I can't be sure whose hands it's in now and restoring it, but he passed away in Feb '17 and since then I wanted to see if I could buy it back. Hi all. Im wanting to track down my old girlfriend.

I didnt want her at the at time so let her go, but for some stupid reason I think I can turn back the clock and get her back as the one I upgraded to is clearly not a patch on the old one. Rather than just get any new girlfriend thats similar to the old one I instead want that specific old girlfriend back who probably already has a happy life somewhere else. You think the new owner is maybe doing a restoration, sorting out that rusty hole you always wish you'd filled in? Any '64 is a rolling goldmine if still on the road, and mine has probably become a crushed, square block of scrap metal. But I would pay to know. Is there a source or service similar to Carfax that can find cars from a listing of former titled owners.
Just about impossible with no VIN or idea of what happened to it since you had it.
Counting the cost
You could look for various classic car clubs, but even then the odds are tiny. If it survived big if it may have been painted several times.

Sounds like a NICE ride, though! If you run across a canyon copper 59 Pontiac with a white top in your travels let me know. I suspect though that it has been melted and transformed into heaven forbid a Prius by now.
Finding my old car, where to start?
Even with the VIN, the information in Minnesota at least is not available to the public. Might want to just talk to the DMV on it and ask. If you could get a duplicate copy of the old title in your name, you could get the VIN and maybe try to trace it forward. That would have been pre computer though so I dought they are going to have much.

You might not have the time or energy to get a new vehicle. Make a plan. Or maybe you decide that spending more money on repairs is in your best interest. At least you have something decided. Hoses, belts and tires are prone to cracking and wear with age. Worn, cracking dry-rotted tires need to be replaced. Dry-rotted tires are more likely to cause blow-out and to have slow leaks. High-speed blowouts are one of the leading causes of accidents on expressways.
Hoses that are worn can begin to leak coolant, causing a vehicle to overheat. Overheating can lead to engine failure. If you are driving an older car, make sure you have a mechanic who advises you of things like worn rubber components before they become major problems. A thorough, regular multi-point inspection will help keep your older car running smoothly.
Car seats are made from durable plastic.

As the plastic experiences fluctuation in temperatures, it eventually can no longer do its job properly. In addition to this, safety standards for car seats change and you want to have the most up-to-date seat possible. Seat belts, on the other hand, are made to last the life of the vehicle.
